No Added Sugar Jalapeno Margarita

Ever try and look for a cocktail recipe without any of that unnecessary added sugar? I always get that splitting headache followed by nausea when I have more than 2 mixed drinks. Because of this, I’ve learned how to sweeten drinks naturally with fruit or other natural sugars.

When I see simple syrup in a recipe, I always think of ways to replace it with something that won’t give me that horrible feeling at the end of the night. This one is by far my favorite go to drink. If you like tequila, lime, and a little spice, give this a shot. Too tart or sour for you? Add a splash of light OJ. Don’t like jalapeno? Doesn’t need it! The best part about it is it’s so simple, you probably have all the ingredients in your fridge right now!

If you need to adjust the measurements feel free to play around with it to your liking 🙂

  • 2oz Tequila (I recommend Espolon; it’s reasonably priced and perfect for a margarita)
  • 1oz Realime Lime Juice
  • 1/2 Squeezed Fresh Lime
  • 2 Slices of Jalapeno

Shake well with ice. Strain into salted rimmed glass with fresh ice and enjoy! 🎉
