Everyday Skincare & Makeup Routine

Skincare

I find that washing my face only once a day works best for my skin so I try to avoid washing my face in the morning. Instead, I take a cotton round and wipe it with the Garnier Micellar Water. This one is my favorite and makes my skin feel as if I just wiped it completely clean of everything.

I recently started using a toner, but had trouble finding one that worked best for me. I stumbled upon Farmacy Deep Sweep BHA Toner. It’s a little pricey for a toner, but like a lot of other toners I had used, it doesn’t dry out my skin. I felt like this one really prepped my skin with a little boost of hydration before the rest of my skincare.

Now that I have a fresh clean slate, I start with my skincare. First, I take 3 drops of The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid and 3 drops of The Ordinary Niacinamide and rub them in gently. These make my skin feel hydrated and smooth. This specific hyaluronic acid wasn’t too thin and wasn’t too thick. I feel it’s just the perfect consistency to blend in well. The niacinamide has helped my acne more than you would imagine. This is a product that I’ll never stop purchasing.

Next I move onto moisturizer. I received Exuviance Dairy Corrector SPF 35 Moisturizer in one of my Voxboxes for Influenster. It has become one of my absolute favorites. I feel it absorbs right into my skin immediately upon application. It’s a light, less thick consistency so if you’re like me and your skin doesn’t absorb those thick, clay-like moisturizers, this is for you. I once tried the It Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream because of how great the reviews are and my skin never broke out so bad before in my life. This was shocking since I love their CC cream. But the consistency was as thick as soft butter. It clogged my pores so bad and just sat on the top of my skin like an extra sticky layer.

Anyways, if I don’t use the Exuviance, I use my favorite Innisfree Hydrating Cream / Innisfree Hydrating Cream (I added two different sites b/c they’re out of stock of the one I use on the actual Innisfree website for now). It’s relatively inexpensive compared to all the other non-drugstore creams. The green tea moisturizer absorbs super well into my skin and makes it so soft. That’s all I do for my skincare before I start my everyday makeup.

Makeup

I like applying my foundation when my face is just a tad wet. So I’ll start off by spraying my face with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray. I have tried them all and I honestly have no favorite. They’re all hydrating and do the same job, but normally I’ll just buy the rose one or the aloe. I also spray my foundation brush with a few spritz of it too.

Now I move onto my favorite foundation (or CC cream) It Cosmetics CC+ Cream / It Cosmetics CC+ Cream (again added 2 b/c sometimes one site has a sale). The way this applies is almost the same consistency as my moisturizer. It goes on and blends so smooth with a pretty full amount of coverage. A CC cream seems to not clog my pores as a regular foundation does. This one product I highly recommend for any skin type.

My all time favorite bronzer that I have been using for YEARS is the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer / Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. Not only does it smell like coconuts, but the color looks as if you just got a fresh tan and again my favorite, it’s relatively inexpensive. This one can be a little difficult to find in stores sometimes, so I linked 2 separate websites again.

Right now I’m using Elf Baked Highlighter. It’s super cheap which is why I bought it and the reviews weren’t bad. I honestly expected a lot worse in such a cheap highlighter, but I’ve found that some of my favorite products have been on the lower price range. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this one so if you’re looking for a cheap, solid highlighter, give this one a try. You have nothing to lose!

Right now I’m using a Physicians Formula blush that I’m not too crazy about and can’t even find it online to link. It was an impulse buy at Marshalls one day, but it does the job.

The product I use on my eyebrows I have been using since I’ve been filling in my eyebrows (long time). I remember going into Ulta and one of the workers suggested Tarte Waterproof Brow Mousse. I was stunned at how easy it was to apply and how I could literally jump in a pool and not worry about my eyebrows coming off. It’s easy to apply and I love how Tarte supplies a fresh new brush with it every time. The best part is that it lasts me over a year and it’s only $29 ($19 right now with the sale).

My last and final step before my setting spray is Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Mascara. This one I had also received from Influenster to test. I do really enjoy this mascara. It gives my eyelashes a lot of volume as if I had falsies on. I actually got mistaken several times for having them on. I’m used to buying drugstore mascara so it was nice to experience a higher quality brand and see the difference. It’s a tad pricey at $29, but it has been lasting me a while and compared to others at Sephora, it doesn’t seem too expensive.

Finally, a few spritzes of Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray to finish off my routine. This really keeps my makeup from moving and sliding off my face especially in the heat. It keeps it fresh and vibrant all day long!

What are some of your favorite products? Which ones should I add to my routine?!

  1. Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid are the two actives I use daily too. They’ve calmed my skin a LOT. I’ve recently started using retinoid as well – once a week – waiting to see how that works for me. Your routine is perfect – though I prefer using a stronger sunscreen (SPF 50).
Shout out to The Ordinary for having such amazing reasonably priced products!
PS: your hair is gorgeous! Waiting for your hair care routine. 🙂

    1. The ordinary is fantastic! I’m so happy I decided to try it because I’m in love. Which retinoid do you use? I’ve tried but didn’t love the ones I was using so I stopped. Also, thank you!😍 it’s nothing special at all but I’ll touch base on that one day!💗
